Chiropractic Techniques
- Diversified - most common technique used by chiropractors. It is characterized by high velocity, low amplitude thrust. The technique uses a specific lie of drive to restore proper movement and alignment of the spine
- Activator Method - uses a small handheld instrument, called an activator. It has a soft rubber tip to deliver a light force to the area being treated
- Drop Techniques - chiropractic adjustments are performed on a table in which cushions drop about an inch when thrust is applied to the spine
- Nimmo Technique - uses compression to alleviate trigger points and extremely tense muscles that have suffered from trauma, poor posture, and emotional stress
Therapy / Rehab Techniques
- Interferential therapy (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) - used to treat muscular spasms and strains. It has a massaging affect to the treating area, and stimulates secretion of endorphins ( body's natural pain relievers), thus promotes healing.
- Ultrasound - reduces inflammation by enhancing the cell repair
- Intersegmental traction - it induces passive motion to the spine to decrease fixation. It improves circulation of spinal fluids and therefore nourishes the disc, and prevents disc thinning and degeneration.
- Diathermy - it is a painless procedure. It delivers moderate heat to the deep tissues, and is used to destroy abnormal cells and tissue. The heat increases blood flow, and helps speeding up the recovery.
- Cryotherapy - using low temperature to decrease the inflammation and promote healing
- Stretching and exercises
Acupuncture Techniques
- Electro-acupuncture - is non-invasive. Using a specialized electrical stimulus for treating the acupuncture points.
- Needle acupuncture - using single-use needles to treat acupuncture points.
